“I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!"

Revelation 3:15-16

Lord, help us to be passionate about you. Give us a fire to honor you in all we do. Let us not go through the motions, but help us to strive to be excellent.

2 Corinthians 5:15

He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.

Lord,

I pray that you get us out of the entertainment mindset. Help us live to serve and obey you rather than entertain ourselves. Help us to find true joy which comes from following you and expose the shallowness of simply being entertained.

Daniel 1:17-29

God gave these four young men an unusual aptitude for understanding every aspect of literature and wisdom. And God gave Daniel the special ability to interpret the meanings of visions and dreams. When the training period ordered by the king was completed, the chief of staff brought all the young men to King Nebuchadnezzar. The king talked with them, and no one impressed him as much as Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. So they entered the royal service. Whenever the king consulted them in any matter requiring wisdom and balanced judgment, he found them ten times more capable than any of the magicians and enchanters in his entire kingdom.

Lord,

I pray that we can be like these men. Help us to pursue excellence and not settle for being mediocre. I pray that we have the heart and the dilligence to excel for the purpose of making you look good. I confess any complacency we have and I ask that you replace that complacency with a passion and a fire for excellence.

Proverbs 8:12-16

“I, Wisdom, live together with good judgment. I know where to discover knowledge and discernment. All who fear the Lord will hate evil. Therefore, I hate pride and arrogance, corruption and perverse speech. Common sense and success belong to me. Insight and strength are mine. Because of me, kings reign, and rulers make just decrees. Rulers lead with my help, and nobles make righteous judgments."

Lord,

We ask for wisdom. We thank you for promising to grant wisdom to those who ask you and those who trust you. We thank you that you give it feely and do not turn up your nose at us. Your word says that the wise are mightier than the strong, so Lord we ask you for wisdom. Help us to see the value of hard work and the folly of laziness and selfishness. Help our coaches lead with wisdom and fairness. Forgive us of any pride we might have and give us the wisdom to see that all that we have comes from you.

Psalm 80:19
Turn us again to yourself, O LORD God Almighty. Make your face shine down upon us. Only then will we be saved.

Lord, I ask that you turn our hearts to you. Give us the desire to do everything with all our heart for you. I confess that we do not always give our best for you. Thank you for the forgiveness that you make availible in Jesus Christ. Thank you for making us a new creation. I ask that you help us live like we are a new creation. Help us to remember what you have done for us. You gave your life for us. You continue to guide us and empower us. Let that prompt us to offer our bodies to you as a living sacrifice, the kind you find acceptable.

Revive us and drive away our apathy with your love.
