Psalm 81

Now I will take the load from your shoulders; I will free your hands from their heavy tasks.
For it was I, the LORD your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt.  Open your mouth wide and I will fill it with good things

Psalm 81:6, 10

Lord Jesus,

I ask that you take the load from my shoulders and free my hands from their heavy tasks. May you fill me with good things.

Amen

Hallowed be your name

Lord,

We want your name to be honored and for people to see how awesome you are.  (Luke 11:2)

May we love you (Deuteronomy 6:5) , obey you (John 14:15), trust you (Proverbs 3:5-6), and thank you ( 1 Thessalonians 5:18)

In the name of Jesus,

Amen

Not be ashamed

Because the Sovereign LORD helps me, I will not be disgraced.  Therefore I have set my face like a stone, determined to do his will. And I know that I will not be put to shame.  Isaiah 50:7

Lord, thank you for helping us.  May we not be disgraced.  Help us to set our face like a stone, determined to do your will knowing that we will not be put to shame.

In the name of Jesus,
Amen

Fear and Discouragement

Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up by my victorious right hand.   Isaiah 41:10

Lord,

May we not be afraid or discouraged. Thank you for being with us and claiming us as your own. Please strenghten us, help us, and hold us up with your victorious right hand.

In the name of Jesus,
Amen

Frosty's Prayer

I took concepts from Frosty Westering's book Make The Big Time Where You Are and turned them into a prayer

May we pay careful attention to our own work so that we may have the satisfaction of a job well done.  May we not compare ourselves to others. (Galatians 6:4)

Please remove our fear and give us a spirit of power, love, and self discipline (2 Timothy 1:7)

May we become content within ourselves embracing our weakness rather than being ashamed by it.  For when we are weak, then we are strong. (2 Corinthians 12:10)

Fill us with your joy, for your joy is our strength.  (Nehemiah 8:10)

May we give it our best shot, knowing that nothing we do through you is ever useless.  (1 Corinthians 15:58)

May we enjoy our work and accept our appointed lot.  (Ecclesiastes 5:19)

In Jesus' name
amen

Enthusiasm

Enthusiasm without knowledge is no good; haste makes mistakes
Proberbs 19:2

Lord, you give your people joy. Lord we ask for enthusiasm not only for the things that we naturally enjoy, but also for things that are not particularly fun. May we be full of the right kind of enthusiasm; the kind that is under control and productive. Fill us with your spirit which produces both joy and self control.

God's Favor

Unless the LORD builds a house
the work of the builders is wasted
Unless the Lord protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good
It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night,
anxiously working for food to eat;
for God gives rest to his loved ones

Psalm 127:1-2

Lord Jesus,

Everything we do is dependent on you weather we realize it or not. Apart from you, we can do nothing. We might have the talent, the intelligence, and the work ethic to achieve much, but without your blessing we will achieve little. May we go about our work and preparation with a spirit full of joy and confidence. Give us the peace to work to the best of our ability and trust you with the results even if they are not what we would like them to be. May we not be anxious, distressed, or afraid. We pray that your name be honored above all else.
